Embrace The Journey, As It Is A One-Way Street
I was in the midst of writing my article for this week’s blog and I just stopped.
This Wednesday school starts for the kiddos. Both of them are in transitional years. Our son is a freshman in high school and our daughter will be starting middle school (6th grade). As much as I love writing the blog each week, this week I am going to soak up the last few days of summer with our kids.
Over the last few months, I’ve heard quite a few times, there are no guarantees in this life…embrace what you have at this moment. The universe is obviously reminding me to live in the present.
When the kids were toddlers and going through phases I was not overly enjoying, I often caught myself wondering (and praying) how soon will it be over. Now, as they go through phases, albeit sometimes very painful, I remind myself to embrace this phase, because, in the big picture, it is just a blip.
So, for all my parents, guardians, and surrogate parents remind yourself there are no ups without downs and vice versa. Soak in every tiny bit of this journey, because whether we like it or not, it is a one-way street.
Here’s to a year of learning, growth, and amazing memories.
I’m off to make a few more end-of-the-summer memories. If you have the time, I highly recommend making a few of your own.
