How Words Versus Actions Sabotage Some Of The Military’s Potentially Best Programs (Part I)
A few weeks ago I wrote a blog post about the military denying versus helping service members. (If you are interested in reading it click here). It was watching my friend fall apart under the stress that led me to write the article. Two weeks later and I am still ruminating over the struggles my friend has to endure.
The guidance I am giving her should not be done by me…but should be done by her program clinical case manager. However, I am certain they do not know how to do this, as it was a point of contention I had the last 4 years I was there. The powers that be only wanted to have the staff do the administrative processing of paperwork…not get down and dirty with the individual cases.
The claim is too many cases. And on some level I do not disagree. The volume has swelled in the last 9 years to double where it started and the staff has not been plussed up to match the volume. A true “do more with less” situation.
Guess what gives…time for the service member. The reason why the program exists.
